The Universal Kids Resort in Frisco was born from a completely new concept developed by Universal Destinations & Experiences to capture the imaginations of a younger audience. Officially announced in January 2023, the project marked a strategic shift to create a first-of-its-kind, smaller-scale theme park specifically designed for families with young children. The core idea was to build an intimate and lushly landscaped park that allows for a more manageable and engaging experience, where kids can immerse themselves in their favorite stories. Frisco, Texas, was strategically chosen as the ideal location due to its reputation as one of the fastest-growing cities in the U.S. and its strong family-oriented demographics. Universal saw the burgeoning North Texas market as the perfect place to launch this innovative regional concept, which features a 97-acre site complete with the park and a 300-room themed hotel, all scaled to inspire play and discovery for a new generation of Universal fans.
